Adventures in Low Elements
This is our intermediate workshop for individuals looking to explore the many different low elements. During this workshop, discover the variety of ways a single low element can be used. Whether you’re working with a big course or a small one, this workshop can help you get the most out of the low elements that you have.
Participants will:
Learn the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a variety of low challenge course elements, including safety guidelines, spotting skills and requirements, and safe disabling of low elements.
Gain knowledge of appropriate variations for facilitating low elements to offer a range of options regarding level of difficulty, participant engagement, accommodations, and social and emotional learning outcomes.
Learn and experience a variety of warm-up games, problem-solving initiatives, trust sequences, and other activities designed to prepare participants for engagement on low elements.
Be introduced to facilitation skills such as intentional sequencing, framing, and debriefing techniques necessary to maximize participant learning and growth.
Review expectations for basic daily inspection of low elements.

Graduate credits: Participants can earn 2 credits for taking the workshop and completing a Reflection Paper. Additional 2 credits can be earned by also completing a Guided Project. More graduate credit information can be found HERE. Additional per credit fee applies.
Participants who are licensed teachers in MA can earn 24 PDPs after completing this workshop and submitting a Reflection Paper for additional fee. Email registration@pa.org for more information.
Please register more than two weeks in advance to ensure the workshop will have enough participants to run as scheduled.
Workshop registration cancellation policies: Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to a workshop start date will result in 50% refund of tuition cost. No shows without cancellation notice will forfeit all tuition cost paid.
Purchase Orders: If your school or organization will be using a Purchase Order, please email registration@pa.org to register. A copy of the Purchase Order will need to be submitted to that same email address to finalize the registration.
