Social Emotional Learning through Adventure

This in-person workshop is for interdisciplinary, K-12 educators who wish to support the social and emotional development of their students better. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of adventure-based, SEL-linked activities while exploring strategies for applying adventure concepts to align and integrate the diverse social and emotional learning initiatives in their school.

Adventure in the Classroom: Integrating SEL & Content Instruction

Highly engaged adventure programming allows students to experience learning and does not require an open field, hiking trail or a gymnasium. This research supported modality of teaching has many benefits along with applications for within the classroom to foster community, accelerate learning outcomes, and teach social and emotional competencies. This in-person workshop will bring adventure learning to any classroom setting while also supporting positive school climate.

SEL for Tier 2 Interventions: Creating the Perfect circle (online)

Schools and youth programs are stretched thin when it comes to serving students who need extra support. Group work – such as boys’/girls’ groups, lunch bunches, or Tier 2 social support groups – can be a great way to provide targeted SEL services to more of our students. The group process is also a powerful way to help our students develop. In this online workshop, participants will learn strategies to make Tier 2 SEL groups effective. Our methodology can help you design a group for your students’ needs and build your own Perfect Circle.
