Universal Access for Climbing Structures and High Challenge Courses

Picture of a climbing tower built from three telephone poles and wood paneling. The tower has a slight twist to it. There are two small figures standing at the top ofthe tower. An orange climbing rope hangs down the left side of the tower..

This workshop focuses on increasing participant access on high courses/structures.  Classroom sessions will include specific health concerns related to persons with disabilities, awareness of physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges, and person-first programming etiquette and approaches. Technical sessions will include partner counter weight systems, mechanical advantage systems for increasing access on vertical and horizontal climbs, and specialty harnesses.  This one day workshop can be taken alone or in conjunction with our two one-day Artificial Climbing Wall workshops.
